ATHLETIC DINNER AT ST HELENS

With a minimum of formality built into the evening, Swansea RFC Hon. Sec. Byron Mugford was MC and introduced the Guest Speaker, former Llanelli, Wales, Lion and Barbarian Phil Bennett. He chose as an appropriate theme, the 1974 Invincible Tour of the Lions to South Africa and also his earliest memories of coming to St Helens to play against Swansea Rugby Club.

 

With the formalities over, the guests spent the rest of the evening enjoying each others' company and re-establishing old friendships. The event will be keenly looked forward to next year with the Former Players' Association also planning an event in October this year.
