WEBBY GETS TOP COACH AWARD
The Annual Principality Awards Night was held on Wednesday evening and Swansea Senior Coach Richard Webster received the award for Coach Of The Year following Swansea's best season since the start of the Semi-Pro era in 2003.
Hanno Dirksen's tremendous season was acknowledged in his being a nominee for the Best Newcomer award. Ever present Swansea Stalwart Kit Manager Dai Richards was also nominated for an award for the Services To Rugby award.
The awards are selected by the Premiership Clubs themselves along with the WRU Performance & Development Dept whose Head Joe Lydon said "The Principality Premiership is not only a breeding ground for players, it is a great platform for the development of our coaches and Swansea's Richard Webster engineered some fantastic rugby this season in reaching their best ever Premiership League position."
Richard Webster, in accepting the award, paid tribute to the coaching team as a whole along with the players, groundsman and administration staff in what has been a tremendous season with Swansea playing the kind of football that is expected at St Helens.
I'm sure everyone at The Whites will agree the award is well deserved and will look forward to the next campaign with confidence and eagerness. Details of the 2010-11 Season Ticket packages will be posted shortly.
