  • MGR donate Swansea RFC Kit Van
  • Long-time Whites supporter Mike Ross gives Whites wheels

Last Thursday, 30th  August, Swansea Rugby Club’s Team Logistics Coordinator Ian Hopkins met up with MGR Motors’ boss Mike Ross to receive the keys to the new kit van for The Whites.

MGR Motors have generously supplied the kit van that is an essential component of keeping Swansea RFC on the road during the season. The two met at the busy MGR unit on Plasmarl Industrial estate, Beaufort Road. There Mike Ross was able to hand the vehicle over officially and Ian Hopkins accepted on behalf of the club.

Mike has been a Swansea supporter for many years and a long time sponsor of the club. In fact this is the second kit van that they have furnished to Swansea RFC. The hard working van bears the MGR and Swansea RFC logos, reminding the club and supporters of the generosity of the local business and the close relationship between the club and the people of Swansea.

Ian Hopkins commented: “I was very pleased to be able to come and thank Mike Ross in person on behalf of the club for the continued support that MGR Motors gives to a club that he clearly loves as much as we do."

"The practical help that this van will afford cannot be overstated. We do many miles with the match day essentials on board, year in, year out and this is a very tangible way for Mike and MGR Motors to show the support they have given over many years."

"Though working this weekend, Mike has assured me he will be at the first home game of the season as always and we look forward to welcoming him at St Helen’s.”
